a CAKE Guide: How to summer in Park City like a local

A CAKE GUIDE: How to summer in Park City like a local. Our expertly curated list of how to make the most of your trip.

PLAY like a local:
Hike: Bloods Lake at Guardmans Pass, a Park City classic. This 2.8 mile out and back is one of our favorite ways to cool off on a hot day!

Bike: Rent a bike and/or book a guide through White Pine Touring (psst they have options for every level of biker). If you brought your own make sure to check out Armstrong-Ham-Spiro Loop!

Fly Fish: Enjoy a day on the river with Isaac, our friend and go-to guide for the ultimate boutique fly fishing experience, book your reservation at pmdflyfishing.com

Stroll: Main Street and don't miss Gallery Mar, Park City History Museum (our mining history is really fascinating) or Pink Elephant Coffee and Land Juicery!

Float: The Weber River, a 4th of July classic, but also great on any hot day. You can do this yourself, with a shuttle, or you can go through a company:  https://barefoottubing.com/weber-river-tubing.htm

EAT like a local:

Breakfast: Five5eeds (a CAKE favorite) Aussie style cafe best known for their Shakshouka and coffee.

Lunch: Riverhorse Provisions at the top of Main Street, enjoy your gourmet deli sandwich with a view on their second level patio. Also, don't forget to stock up on some local treats from their bodega.

Dinner: Yuki Yama Sushi. If Utah doesn't make you think of sushi then you probably haven't been to Yuki. These guys are doing something special and you don't want to miss it.. but the secret is out so do yourself a favor and book a reservation.

Drink: Old Town Cellars. Wine that is blended and bottled locally, plus they moved locations this year and their new space is our favorite way to apres!

** Not mentioned but definitely noteworthy are Harvest Cafe, Ritual Chocolate, High West and Firewood.

DRESS CODE: Anything goes in Park City, but when in doubt, reach for denim and boots (the locals' uniform).

*Pro Tip: Don't forget a sweater or light weight jacket, even when the day time temp is in the 80's, when the sun goes down, the temps drop big time. We stock cashmere layers year round! Shop our favorite summer sweater picks here: https://cakeparkcity.com/collections/summer-sweaters
