Last week we had Ellen answer some quick-fire style questions. This week, Emily is up! One of our newer staffers, Emily hails from New Orleans and brings her southern sophistication to our casual mountain town. If you need some help finding the perfect dress to wear to a wedding or a cocktail party, look no further. Emily is your girl.
How long have you worked at Cake? Since September of 2013
Who is your style icon? The Olsen twins for one; I love black and oversized anything. I have a very classic look with an edgy side and can’t get enough comfy in my wardrobe. I also love the Parisian beauty, Elisa Sedbaoui, whose style represents everything my ideal wardrobe stands for: minimal yet unique and incredibly beautiful. My style always has and always will be influenced and inspired by Paris. Lastly, Blake Lively and her uptown-chic/bohemian look will always call to me.
What is your favorite season for buying clothing? I love every season. As my dad always says, I’m a shopper by nature, so I don’t discriminate by time of year. It’s great that I live in Park City now instead of New Orleans so I have much more freedom to mix my fall and spring fashion. Not acceptable in the heat of the deep south, but here, even when the summer days can be hot, the nights will always allow for a cute sweater and pant.
What are a few of your favorite brands? Rag & Bone, Citizens of Humanity, Helmut Lang, Chloe, James Perse, Iro, Vince, and Elizabeth and James, A.L.C.
What item is your “must have” for this season & how would you style it? The Citizens of Humanity Corey Slouchy Slim denim and Anine Bing Mesh Bra are my staples of the season. They are my everyday go-tos, my comfy cozies, my new uniform. The Coreys are my first pair of boyfriend jean and I love them. They are so comfortable and look great as well. And the mesh bra feels amazing. I’m all about comfort for everyday and these two pieces are pure perfection.
When you aren’t in the store what can you be found doing? Going to school at the U, modeling for the store’s photo shoots, photographing (especially in black and white film), hiking with my crazy husky, Kito, and searching for new adventures.
